Recommend springs for Koni Yellows
Ive done a lot of searching but cant come up with a lot!
I have Koni yellows and Tanabe springs. The car has been aligned since fitting.
Anyway, the problem I have is this, if I have the Konis on soft, the shocks 'bottom out' when hitting a large bump, on stiff, they make the ride so hard that the slightest bump feels like it will throw you off the road.
My thinking is that the tanabes are way too soft (they are progressive rears AND fronts
- which I thought was odd!)
The car is such a pig to drive at the moment, has anyone else had a problem with tanabe springs being too soft?
Anyway, id like a spring that will match up with the Konis, and IMPROVE the handling of the car - at the moment I physically cant drive as fast, as hitting a bump almost throws the car off the road
Anyideas?!
Thanks in advance

Just to add, I have tried the shocks on different settings, (not just fully hard and fully soft!) - cannot get a good balance.
On stiff it feels like the shocks are holding up the car, not the springs

Think I will try the stock springs perhaps, gotta find them in the garage thou
Can I use stocks springs on the lower Koni perch and get away with it?
Groundcontrols I could try, but then im stuck with what spring rates to get etc

Ground controls + Yellows are a great combo. Choose the standard springrate first, and if you want a softer ride, you can always just purchase new springs. The beauty of the Ground Controls is you can swap out springs easily for changing conditions/seasons/tracks.

Well you're right, on soft setting the car should bottom out especially with soft lowering springs. On hard setting it should be pretty rough. You shouldn’t turn them all the way stiff for daily driving because it will uncomfortable and you’re wearing out the shock really fast.
You need to set them somewhere in the middle. On my Integra for daily driving I’m running 4/5 stiff in the rear and 2/4 - 3/4 stiff in the front. The ground control springs are 330lbs front and 350lbs rear.
How much are you lowered? Maybe you’re lowered too much and don’t have enough shock travel. Did you have another set-up in the past that you liked more or have you rode in someone else lowered car and liked it?
EDIT: Yes the springs are really soft. Search for "Tanabe springs" and you’ll see they are around 250 front and 150 rear, so yea get some stiffer springs. I also suggest go with ground control.

Well, ive had lowered cars before, and been very pleased with the improvement.
The ITR has gone from a handling god, to a handling dog with these!
Ideally im looking for a spring, rather than coilover sleeves, but I guess if theres no springs that will do the job, i'll go for the G/C's
Thanks for the help really appreciate it

I bought my R with a Koni/eibach setup that rides and handles beautifully. It's better then stock but doesn't beat you up. The kid that installed the kit before I bought the car said they were Real Time Racing suspension kit. It's still a sleeve type kit but the springs are long not short like the GC or Skunk2 kits. You may want to look into it. Just for reference, I put my Zeal S6's in my car recently and I really miss the ride of the old setup. I hate to say it, but I think the Real Time setup was a better overall setup on the car. Also I have a friend with the H&R 1 peice coilovers and again the Real Time setup I have feels better overall.
i use koni yellows with eibach pro kit springs, i havent had any problems and i usually ride on the street on soft. look into the eibachs. good stance too.

standard springrate...you mean that of like 6k in front, and 2k in rear?
