Default Under dash wiring issue, please look!!!!

Ok, so this is somewhat stereo related. My friend has a 94 Teg. The wiring that connects to the deck is partially burned. I guess due to some kind of a short, prolly why he got such a good deal. Anyway, how do I go about fixing this. Do I take the whole dash apart and rewire or what? Thanks!!!

well sounds like it is already apart. I would replace the wiring harness and look around the wires you cut out, and around the general area to see what caused that short, if you can cut the bad, or just replace, .. in either case, you need to rewire everything there, just to make sure there arent any other wiring issues.

That would be my advice, you could do less, but really... considering what would happen if its a group of bad wires... do you want to take that kind of chance?
