Does a weighted shifter knob have any adverse affects
I'm asking cuz the one i bought is made of solid chrome (supposedly) and weighs about 1-3 pounds at least . Will this be bad for the tranny or if i shift normally will it be fine.
PS no flamin the chrome shifter, it's actually got a nice feel to it, except in the winter

It definitely gives more positive shifter feel. Shifting is a bit quicker too, since you've placed more weight at the end of the lever.

I'm going to be welding a 10 pound dumbell onto my current shift ****. I'll be able to get a better grasp on the shifter and have smoother shifts too.
I'll update with pics

lol. you should cut one end off the dumbell and cut the shifter in 1/2 and graft the two together. hahhhaaaa

I was discussing this with someone today and they told me weighted shift ***** (like skunk2 and spoon) are good for your tranny and synchros as well... can anyone confirm this?

im sure it is steel since you have to chrome metal to get the "chromed look..." unless its that shitty plastic stuff that they wrap badges in. which i highly doubt.
even that shitty chrome stripping you see on trucks from time to time is chromed sheet metal(ungalvanized)..
