Code 15, Ignition control module, but......
OK, just swapped in my jdm d15b vtec with obd-1 conversion and p28 ecu. Car is running great, but I keep getting a code 15 after driving for awhile. Ive tried 2 different ignitors with the same result. Wouldnt a code 15 indicate a faulty ignitor and make the car run like ****? Maybe the car is running weaker than I should and I dont realize it because I dont have anything to compare it to?
Code 15 - Ignition Output Signal - missing or defective ignition output signal
I'd be betting you have a wiring problem somewhere. Does your tach work correctly?
**edit**
make sure you have good 12volt power on the blk/yel wire at the distributor.
also make sure that the yel/grn wire at the distributor connects to the red/grn at A21/A22 of the ECU.
plus your engine/trans grounds.

It seems to be working correctly, but I havent really taken it all the way throught the range yet. The light usually doesnt come on immediately, most of the time I have to drive a little while before it appears.
The jumper harness Im using is the one from blown90hatch. Could the ignitor be faulty even though the car runs fine? I made sure all the connections on the actual ignitor from the distributor are tight.
Thanks for your useful input
Besides, alot of people only read one of these forums, like I did before I changed my car to obd1. There is more useful obd1 knowledge among these guys than us EF guys. Hence that is why I have more replies in this thread than in the one in the EF forum.
Back on topic: I have good voltage to the black/yellow wire at the 2 pin connector on the distributor. Engine, trans, and t-stat housing grounds are fine.
