Just swapped in a new heart for the ol' hatch

Well I was running around on a really old and used up minime that was smoking and burning oil like there was no tomorrow. Well she finally started knocking and asking to be put to rest. She consisted of a b8 shortblock with z6 head and intake manifold. Lets just say she smoked burned oil so bad that she used straight smoke-b-gone when I did an oil change
. Now finally after a long night she's back to her old self again. Swapped in a nonvtec minime. I pick up any sohc engine or shortblock I can no matter what it is and have 3 more sitting in the garage incase another engine goes. The lowdown on the new setup.
-B8 shortblock
-A6 head
-z6 intake manifold
-act prolite flywheel
-ebay lightened crank pulley
-Z6 tranny
-DC SS 4-1 header
-P06(soon to get a Gude bin for a chipped P06 I have laying around! Yippee!)
Holy geez this thing revs so easily and hitting 6k it pulls better then my z6 in my 4dr. Only thing I had to do was use the b7 cam gear to get the timing right and she started right up on her first try. I'm pretty amazed by this setup and how nice it is. Basically it's just a B7 with a a6 cam but it pulls so nicely once you get up around 6k. the nonvtec 1.5 minime gets a big
from me. I picked up the complete B8 engine for 20 bucks and just needed a new waterpump. The A6 head I got from a friend for basically free. Everything else I had sitting around. For those who can't get the money for a vtec engine or a vtec head to build an engine I would suggest trying this setup. Will have pics later but it's 25 below zero in WI right now.
Also with some minime's you usually get a high CR but this puts you at 9.4:1 which is pretty nice if I wanna boost and not have to worry about much.
