Getting an accord ...thing to look for
Find out whether regular maintenance was performed on your car. Ask for work orders and such. Ensure that the timing belt and water pump have been replaced as recommended by Honda.
Just look at the car. a well maintained Honda should look good outside and under the hood.
Ask the owner what type of oil consumption the car has had in the past. Accord engines are well known for high oil consumption beyond 60000 to 100000km. Perform a compression check and find out the general condition of the engine.
As well, wheel bearings have been a problem so ask if they have had any trouble.
Take the car for a test drive. Like I said a well maintained Honda should drive like a new car regardless of the miles on it.
The way the brakes feel should tell you a lot too. A car that pulls or fades under braking would indicate to me whether the brakes are maintained or not. This could also show you how the rest of the car is mainatined.
If you live in Canada then go to the MTO and ask for a vehicle history. If the car was previously owned by someone other than the seller call that owner and ask them how the car was for them. Did they maintain it properly or not?

if its a v6, look out for the tranny's. I would look for one with the extended factory warranty. THe 99's werent covered under the 00-02 extension for the trannys
Search for the thread, there was a huge one a week or so ago that had links to the official honda warranty and stuff.
