Default when to put on smsp header??

will be ordering one next month. But as it stands the motor is bone stock. I'm doing an all motor build one step at a time. Will equipping and tunnig this header yield any results or should I wait for my headwork to be done first?? I can wait to put the header on but it would be sweet if I could put it on now.

so the header wont benefit a stock motor ? i plan on doing a mild buildup on an h23 . i only plan to swap h22 pistons (maybe 11.0 cr) and maybe go with a aftermarket cam and valvetrain . after a mild buildup like this, would the sms header benefit my motor any ?

p.s. sorry if i am hijacking . i will modify/delete my post if necessary .

the header will benefit a stock motor. not as much as it would if you had an intake and exhaust system.

i would look into a 2.5" exhaust + 2.5 HF cat to go with the header, and you're going to need custom work to get it to fit to the b-pipe anyway. (i think the SMSP is a few inches longer than OEM, meaning you'll have to cut and reweld flanges etc etc.)

i wouldn't tune the car until all the work is done, since dyno time is expensive. unless you're going to wait a long time to finish up the headwork, i'd wait to tune it.

Stupid me. I did not mean totally stock. It just seems as if everyone has the I/E/H mods done. Well yes that is what I have as well. AEM CAI and DC header to a 2.5 in straight pipe to an ES oval muffler. Should I still wait??

Do you have fuel management? You will need to get it tuned after install. Unless you don't really care about your motor.

If you have a fuel management system you can put it on anytime.

If you don't, you wait until you have a fuel management system.
