What kinds of mods will/won't void warranties?
I've been told so many different things like parts you replace will void the warranty on that part.
I've also been told any kind of mod will void the entire warranty
on that part of the car. eg./springs will void the suspension/drivetrain
Can anybody giveme some concrete data on the situation?
Any info would be appreciated.

 

every dealership is differant, but all of them can void your warrenty if you do any type of modification....including springs/shocks.

read up on your paperwork.

 

not true. a dealership cannot void a warranty for work done on a car. the only way the dealership can legally not do warranty work on your car if they feel that the modifications done to the car is what caused the problem to occur.

exactly my point. if you have mods...they will blame YOU for the problem everytime.

 

they can blame you all day long, but unless they can prove that what ever modification you put on DIRECTLY caused the problem, theres nothing they can do

 

ditto..the dealership has to prove that ur upgrades were responsible for any break down...example: a aftermarket intake cause s ur battery to go dead?..koni shocks causes ur driveshaft to break?...*i think not !!!*..dealerships will kiss ur *** and tell u all the good things about the car ur about to spend thousands of dollars on..then try to screw u everytime something goes wrong

 

Thats what I was told. I was scared there for a second.
So has anybody EVER had a problem with a mod that voided their warranty here?
Basic I/H/E boltons shouldn't cause anything to happen right?
What about lowering springs? Anybody ever had a probelm with those?

no problems yet..but yet, i havent had any problems to need to use the warranty after 110k

 

ive got a AEM CAI and when my radiator went on my 97 DX, they replaced it no questions asked.
