Ok, I got a KILLER deal on damn nice condition leather seats out of a 98+ GS or LS-Special yesterday ($150 to be exact, no rips). Everything went smoothly in the swap, but the brackets on the 98+ wont go into the holes, what do I need to do to make it fit, i guess i'm talking about the U shaped brackets (latch?) at the front of the bottom rear seat. I didnt pay a whole lot of attention when swapping the seats cause it was 10pm last night when i did the swapout, and the other dude just went on his merry way, so if I need something off of those, i donno...
I need to know so my passengers dont get thrown in the floor. thanks. I did a search on this and all the posts said they were the same.

If you're talking about the metal things....I know exactly what you mean. Remember when you pulled the rear seats out? How you kinda had to wiggle it a little to get those metal tabs or whatever you call them to come out of those holes? welp.....unbolt that one bolt again ( you may have to remove the top part first for easier install ) and lift the seat up. Kinda put the seat at a perpendicular angle _| and point the front of the metal tab so it starts to slide into the holes ( you'll know which ones I'm talking about....there would be no other ones that the metal things line up with if you "dry fit" the seats on first ). Here's where you're going to fenegle it so that it goes back into the hole, don't be afraid to use a little muscle though
Once its "in" just lay the seat back down and put that one bolt back in. Put the tops back in and you're done
You can have another person helping you out, but you don't really need to.

take the brackets off your current seats and replace them on the new seats...I had the same problem...bought some 94 cloth seats for my car...went to try them out...and the damn thing had different patterns...so i just said **** it I'll resell the seats
i think they did a change in interior in 96+ i have a 97 i bought some 95 black rear panels and i had to cut them to shape my car,....weird huh...try trading some one.
those metal tabs or brackets are actually part of the seat.....funny because I installed the 98 and up JDM itr rears into my 96 with no probs.......i wish I could get pics of it.
The shape under the seat is different. I had this problem when I put 2000 ITR seats in my 1995 integra. I took my old seats, and ITR seats to an auto upholster shop and had them swap. Took about 30 minutes and something like $25-$30 and now '00 ITR seats fit in perfect like stock seats. You can't tell anything was done to them.
