Default MB Straight Axel< what suspension Are you guys running?

Just would like to get some feed back on the suspension you guys are running on the MB Straight Axel,I was thinking about Koni Yellow with ground controls like a
400/front 600/rear or a 600/front and 900/rear

AND IF YOU GUYS HAVE PICS PLEASE POST THEM !

try the new strange setup pictured here. They look promising. I wanna run it in a street setup, but I'm not sure if it'll hold up

make sure that you get shocks that have an ALOT shorter body than a stock shock. either that or you are gonna have to relocate the lower mount, if you want to get the rear tires tucking.

hold on buddy make sure your in the right post before you answer not trying to be a dick but if your going to answer this question maybe you should least have tried it because any stock shock mounts to an MB solid rear axel and my tire tucks just fine. koni yellows boy. but another shock without as much valve pressure would be better. 1.415 60 fts. all mota

Well he is talking about that becuase we put a mb axel on my 93 coupe with a set of advance design drag shocks and with the correct size spring and the perch completely slammed the car still could go lower. I tryed to get it shortened but neede a whole new unit so I bought there upper mounting plates which lower it a half inch, drilled new holes in the bottom mount good for another inch and cut the bump stop to an inch. I got the car so low I had to c notch the frame rails cause the axel bottomed out on it. I don't think my shocks where any different we just wanted to be the most slammed hotrod out without gay skirts.

yes sir buddy your right you have to modify all of that to put in the solid ra so why wouldnt you take out as much as possable anyway. oh yeah you got a problem. hmmmmmm TURBO. just kidding i am an all motor fan. but im talkin about a stock shock body. and i can still slam my back but why would you really want your car looking like it has hydros, turbo cars usually run 28s why would you want to slam the rear so low? The front on a hot rod car which is stock front chassis cant get the low, can it?

We ran the Ken's axle last year but its very similar. We ran a stock style KYB AGX and just made a new mounting hole for the bottom shock to lower it more. Here is a pic and the only reason we didn't go lower is because we didn't cut the rear fram rails...just the subframe. This was as low as it would go with the rails still in there. I think we could have gotten about 1 more inch with the stock shock.

Damn that pic makes me miss that car. The new one is much better though

The MB sold axle allows for any Honda fork style shock to fit. EG or EK will fit perfectly.

As for that pic above....looks like the Weld Magnum's to me

I would reccomend The Strange Suspension. I have similar shocks in the rear that Progress made me years ago. They are no longer around so I would say Koni Yellow's OR Strange sleeved shocks.

As for spring rates, depends what motor, weight distribution, parachute, and also coilover springs come in different lengths so they are compressed slightly. Ground Control sleeve over style coilovers SUCK. Car will be bouncing all over and they creat traction loss.

My buddy Steve makes Omnipower coilovers. check them out as well. http://www.omnipowerusa.com

Yes I run 28s but my car sit level. I have stock mounting locations but I made my nitro spindle a drop spindle if you will. My 28s sit 1 inch below the top of the shock tower. Also I beleive my advance design shock body is all the same as stock just better. In my opinoin that gold car sits a little tractorish .

Hey thanks for the compliment. Thats a 24.5 inch slick. So are you ever going to get a car on the track or is this some kind of Honda-Tech car show?

Hey no prob. I can see that you have a 24.5 slick . Thats even more the reason for me to say that your car sit like a tractor. I didn't tell you to run that stock fender. **** if I had an allmotor car it would 1st be as low as the rules permit cuase thats easy to do and 2nd I probably could have 2 complete 1 for me and the other for your girl. Ok ok, maybe I'm a little out of line I wasn't picking on your car it was just there as a good example . Buy the way this will be the second car that I will complete to race with. And its the middle of winter am I supposed to be done.

We are from kind of a small farming community, so I suppose its appropriate for our peice of **** car to look like a tractor. Its a good thing we sold it. When we finish the new car I'll be sure to get your approval before I post any pics.
