i figure, those who know about bikes can help me with this. my bike was previously lowered, and i wanted to put it back to factory specs. after loosening the 2 hex bolts on each fork, and the bolts on the handle bar, the bike will drop. how do you guys get the bike lifted up? Is it safe to put a car jack under where the headers are and lift it that way? Please pros, give me some advice. i was thinking of using an engine hoist and have a chain hooked to the frame, but i have no access to one.

i have two very strong hooks in the ceiling of my garage, i use ratcheting tie-downs around the frame and attatched to the hooks, so the frame is suspended from the ceiling. i have seen people use a jack on the head pipes, but there is no way i would do it that way, i dont want to wreck my TBR race headers.
the best way to do it is get a front stand that lifts from the steering head, but thats bucks.

Typically, you'd want a front stand that lifts from under the triple clamp.

Pitbull makes a great stand that converts from a fork lift to a triple clamp lift. Thats what I use, I love it. I have the ss rear stand that can convert from spooled to swingarm lifting. Its great if you work on a lot of different bikes. The front stand is just great for anyone.
