quick mini me swap question

Default quick mini me swap question

can i use any d16 series block? or does it have to be from a specific year?

and yes i did a search and got confused.

You use a non v-tec d series block (D15 or D16) and put a v-tec head on it (Z6 or Y8)

Any D block will be fine you should be able to find a A6 Block for next to nothing. Well anything from 88-00

no. you CANNOT use the <U>DOHC</U> ZC engine block. The rest of the D16 blocks, yes you can.

Thats bullshit, don't ever ask that person any honda question again. The most popular block to do a mini-me swap on is UNDER '92. ('88-'91) And yes, like Doug said, you can use D15 blocks as well.
People like to put vtec heads on D15 blocks because of the better rod/stroke ratio.

oh wow, thanks for the info. mines currently a d15, i was gonna move up to a d16 because i was going to boost it.

would you recommend stickign to the d15 or moving up to a d16 for boost?
