What oil grade should I be using? Also need to replace exaustheader gasket. Is it difficult? Thanks in advance guys. (stock engine, only mods JUN cams and flywheel)

 

Make sure both surfaces are free of old gasket material or any debris, and follow the torque sequence recommended by the manufacturer.

 

As far as oil, maybe I'm wrong but I've been using regular Castroil 10W-30 in my B18A1 with 267,000 and it's fine.

 

header gasket is VERY easy, btw, congrats on 210, im up to 161 on my 96

 

yea haha im at 224k on my motor..still runs strong!!

 

mine almost saw 200k... 197,387 miles of hard abuse by previous kid owner. Should be back on the road soon!

 

Header gasket is easy to replace. As long as that motor is in good condition (have a compression and leakdown test performed) you should stick with what the owners manual says. 5w30 is more than fine.

Why does the car have cams if it's stock otherwise? Do you plan on I/H/C/E and tuning? You will also need cam gears.

286,400 and counting on my DB8....tranny could use a swap, but still running pretty strong. I've used both 5w and 10w 30 oil and find 5w runs a tad better than 10w. In cold weather, I noticed with 5w oil my motor tends to start up a lot less harsh. I guess I'll have to see what its like this summer.
