bottomed out again...quick question
dropped courtesy of tein basics....not a huge drop just enough to eliminate wheel gap in the wells
bottomed out....reeeeal hard again today....and now when im driving...im hearing like a puttering...i checked the flap in the wheel well and the push snaps or whatever you want to call em seem to have gotten screwed up....its pouring here right now...but im planning on jacking it up..rmeoving the wheel and resecuring the push snaps....any other reason why id be hearing this sound? it kind of sounds like if you ran overa humongous piece of gum and its getting stuck....
no big deal...im just getting annoyed by it...stupid post yea...but any words of wisdom?

we have our g3 teg lowered about 3.5 inches with tires tucked all around and it drives fine.. we even have all the plastic peices under the wheel well
Make sure you resecure that wheel liner real good. I've seen what happen to the front end when the liner came loose and get caught up by your tire. It's not a pretty sight.
coulda punched a hole in ur exhaust.... if it hits good enough the bracket up in front of the shifter (or RIGHT behind it??) can push into ur catback and let go.... sad but true...ive welded that little bitch on twice now
its like a 1.5 inch drop...all the way around....i weould have noticeda drop in performance if i punctured the exhaust im getting the feeling its the liner....cuz i checked and the push snaps are now loose....and the noise is coming from the right front wheel well

Hey guys, im just wondering, what is the amount of lowering where you start to experience problems like possibly hitting the oil pan, constantly hitting your lip/bumper? I don't know how much to lower my car I dont want to go too low and **** it up

1.5" drop doesn't eliminate wheel gap .. if you have zero gap, you're probably dropped 2.5~2.75" or so.
just secure that **** and keep ridin

at zero gap, you're still riding pretty well.. you just have to watch out for speedbumps/ramps. and make sure you have good shocks and springs. other than that.. i've seen tegs with as much as an inch clearance

Thanks man, thats what I want no gap front and rear. So i will just have to take inclines/declines slow and angled like a ****? That shouldnt be too hard.

Ehhhh, I don't know about that. How many times have you been here. Well it all depends on what parts, some have shitty roads sometimes i think i'm offroading in the baja or something
But for the most part my daily commute has decent roads and I know where every bump and pothole is to look out for.

I'm sure it's still better than here in NYC....it's like your car is doing a slalom from swerving so much...

speaking about bottoming out I backed into like this big hole/ditch thing but only my driver side rear wheel went in then back out the other side. It bottomed out cause it made a 'boom' sound.
It drives fine but I was wondering if this could have blown the shock. There is no damage, nothing got scraped/hit its just the damn rear driver side wheel bottomed-out so i was wondering how bad that is?

So thats how I know the shock is blown and it is not dampening the oscillation of the spring? Ok sounds good. It wasnt bouncy or anything so I dont think its damaged. Thanks for the input I will go check tomorrow morning. Also: If I jack it up and take off the wheel is there something I could specifically look for? Like a leak or something?
ok i went and pushed down on that corner and it made a little creaking sound. Not very loud just a little 'eerr'. So do you think that I should take off the wheel and look at the shock body for something? Please help anybody.
