Default Front and rear sway bars on my 92 cx?

ok so i have been looking around for a while about putting some sway bars on my cx hatch. I know it doesnt have one in front and needs different lca's and what not for the rear but from what alot of you guys have been saying the rear is more important and easier to install, so do you think i should put a gsr or itr bar on the rear and not worry about the front too much or should i go ahead and do both front and rear sway bars. im not a hardcore auto-xer or anything im just looking for a fairly cost effective way to improve handling. by the way i already have a 3point front upper strut bar and rear upper strut bar on order. thanks for the help guys

IMO it is really important to balance out your suspension. If you have the money, invest in both front and rear. I am running the Suspension Techniques sway bar kit on my 92CX with jdm itr rear lca's.

Nope, the front comes with brackets to attach to your existing front lca's. Just a bolt on affair. The rear however, requires drilling through the subframe and requires an lca with swaybar mount points

thanks for the info. i found a write up about putting this kit on an EK and they used stock rear lca's and brackets similar to the front ones to attach the endlinks in the rear. is this the same for the EG setup? also is anyone using the beaks kit with this sway bar, i know the ST is only a 19 mm in the rear so is reinforcement needed? thanks again

I'd get the Beaks kit regardless...better safe than sorry. Besides, it's only 65 bucks!

If you're not going to the track and just want to reduce understeer, I say go with just the rear sway bar and omit the front bar. The fronts would make turn-in crisper. I also read a tutorial on installing the front sway bar and it looks like a total PITA!

Now, do you have to get Integra rear LCA's AND drill into the subframe? I thought the rear LCA's would eliminate the need to drill?

If you wan't OEM GSR suspension, call ImportAutoSalvage.com. They sell the kits $99 + shipping (front) & $89 + shipping (rear). Front bar is 24mm & rear bar is 14mm. Their shipping is super cheap (they also combine shipping ) & they guarantee all their parts. Every thing is "bolt on" too. No need to drill anything. FYI, you need to drop the shift linkage & exhaust at the transmission to install the front bar.

Both kits include Integra LCAs, Sway Bars, End links, Bar Mounts, Brackets, & Hardware.

You don't need subframe reinforcment (beaks kit) unless you get a rear bar bigger than 20mm.

right. make sure u specify the kit for cars w/o sway bars from the factory. cars with factory sways already have provisions for endlinks on the front LCA

I currently have the Suspension Techniques kit on my VX. The kit I have is made for cars civics that didn't come with any sway bars and you don't need to purchase anything new. This kit is a good alternative if you don't want to hassle with installing new f/r control arms. This is great for the streets but unfortunately, I'm converting my street car to track duties only and will be upgrading to a different suspension setup. Let me know if interested in getting my kit. I've had it for a few months and everything is in good condition.

thanks for all the replies guys. as for the beaks kit i have heard some mixed feeling on whether the beaks kit will even work with the ST sway bar due to the fact the the ST kit (for non OE bar cars) has the endlinks mounting to the rear shock bolt rather than farther over on the lca (the hole that the cx, vx, dx dont have). it seems that adding a beaks may cause clearance issues with the shock and as someone stated a 19mm bar shouldnt really need reinforcement especially with stiffer spring rates (i have omnipower). maybe ill just call import auto salvage and get some rear disks while im at it.

Sounds like you've been doing your research. You should be good to. Good luck w/ your work...

Also, a rear sway bar that is mounted to the lower shock bolt, isn't as stiff as a bar of the same diameter, that is linked to the OEM sway mount location on the LCA. Just some food for thought when making a rear sway descision.

get GSR front and rear discs, then use ITR front and rear sways, and some aftermarket front and rear tie bars, and some strut bars and your car will handle
