the reason i ask is i have a a4 in there now. im going to be making a custom mount for the alt to mount where the a/c is. prob is the engine it will be used on is a h23a1 block, dont want to be making the mount and it not work on the older block. thanks

Make it according to the block that it will be going on. Using the H23? Use the H23 bracket.

So when are you REALLY going to get around to making this mythical bracket?

problem is that the a4 is in the car now, and the a1 is in my room and i need fab it in the car so it will fit in the frame.

i was going to do it last weekend, but everywhere was closed, i got some steel from a friend on monday, but i have been working all week..so well see this weekend

what i really need to ask is the bolt hole locations the same on the h22a4 vs h22a1 vs h23a1? if the bolt patterens the same and mount locations are the same then i can make this to fit while its in the car, then it will fit with the other block in there.

I'm pretty damn sure the bracket's bolt holes are the same between the H22A1 and H23....can't comment on the H22A4 though.

Here's the part numbers:

H22A4 38930-P5M-000 BRACKET, COMPRESSOR $80.47
H23A1 38930-P13-000 BRACKET, COMPRESSOR $80.47
H22A1 38930-P13-000 BRACKET, COMPRESSOR $80.47

so i think its the same.

Well I know for a fact that h22a1, h23a1, and f23a1 a/c brackets are interchangeable... And my guess since all h/f series blocks are cast very similar that h22a4 is probably the same... You should be able to tell just by looking at your different blocks...

Oh, you can make ANYTHING fit, w/ the right tools and enough persuasion

So is the whole a/c bracket thing even an issue now that you're probably not gonna be goin w/ the Lovefab manifold, Vinny?

well it was act a full race mani...but that price i told you wasnt quoted from him, i heard it from another member. if its that muuch i wont be getting it.

also if i dont go w/it its not as much as an issue, but id still like to make it. think it would clean up the engine bay a little and give me more room for the new intercooler piping im running...

ya well you know...and im not act using the bracket...i needed to make a custom on while it was in the car so it would clear the frame, and if the bolt holes dont line up its going to be hard to guess how to make it...

i may just bolt a block in there to mock one up after i get this one pulled out....damn work and cold front...

I couldn't of made it through last winter's engine build without my kerosene heater. I'm tellin ya, that's the BEST investment for a DIY garage that you can make!
