Default Cam Question for H23

Hey guys wassup! Just wondering if any of you H23 Guys out there have used the KMS cams? Are they worth the money? I know if you buy them directly from KMS it will cost 635 bucks but you can tell them the specs you want. What about crower? Found a guy on ebay selling crower cams for 369 bucks. What kind of cams do you guys run? oH yeah tell me if you want me to post the link for the crower cams.

$635 for a set of NonVTEC cams is a joke. You can tell WEB to make you whatever you want for that and they will have a good name to back them up.

SUB-0 H23 has Crower stage ones on a near stock H23 and he gained about 15hp and 10ft lbs untuned. Search the Prelude archives for his thread. Talk to Justin at http://www.importcarpartsplus.com I think that he can get Crower cams to you for about the same price shipped.

Yup; the stage III's have some pretty gnarly lobes on them, so idle will be rough, but it will scream up top. Plus you will need to balance the bottom end, raise the compression, and some portwork would help a lot too.

In fact the stage 3's are almost exactly like Crower's LS/b20 stage 3 cams. They just have more lift.

If you get either Hondata, or a SAFC then no you don't. Otherwise you should get a fuel pressure regulator as a rudimentary means of controlling your A/F.

Now, now fellas, I will post my information about what is going on with my engine on monday in my old dyno thread. For now let's, not ***** up this guy's thread.

Redxalien, no you can't fit VTEC cams in an H23. unless you swap the H23 head for an H22 tha has the appropriate rockers and journal spacing.

actually the "raise the compression" part is holding me back from stage III's. Stage II's + port&polish + EMS should bring good results i hope

if you add I/H/E, you should see 180whp IMO.

If you want to run stage 3's you will want some way of controlling ignition maps. If you can only adjust the distributor then you will have trouble either at the top-end with too much advance or at the low-end with poor idle quality. If you go with the stage 2's then you will probably be fine but higher compression will be a cheap and easy way to get more power out of any upgrade in cams. 1993-1996 USDM H22 pistons will bring you up to about 11.4:1 and that is actually pretty good for the street and will be "bolt in" for the H23.

so if i go and get a set of topline pistons for an H22 put them in to my H23 block using H23 rods and head i will get a compression of around 11.4:1

Cause im looking for a way to bump up the compression without having to resleeve my block.
