Rear strut bushings installation help please.
Getting the lower bolt on the rear struts out was a Bear, but they are out now on my '91 CRX. But now the rear metal inserts and bushings wont go back in. I dont want to remove the whole LCA's and have the inserts/bushings pressed in, as I think that will be another PITA. Any suggestions? A hammer, or possibly the same 'C' clamp I use on front brake jobs?
THANKS!

You can use a c-clamp to install those bushings. Insert 1" washers on both sides and then push the bushing in. Add grease if necessary.
Well we worked all day today on it with no luck. The 'C' clamp didnt work, so we went to the local hardware store and got a 3/4" galvenized pipe cap. Its just big enough to go over the inner part and still rest on the outer part. We lubed and beat on that and just managed to get them started. Next step is taking the LCA's out and bringing them to a shop to have the bushings pressed in. And THEY arent comming out! The car may have to be towed to a shop to get it done.
I've never had problems like this before. Any pearls of wisdom?

Do what I always do...get a bigger hammer. The c-clamp is most likely going to be your best bet. Get a bigger c-clamp and get some better leverage. I bet that'll do the job. $10 should pick you up a good one of good size. And if that doesn't work. Bite the bullet and press them in. Win some you lose some.
