Default difference between k20a heads.

wat is the difference between the k20a type s head and the head off of a regular rsx? i know the intake manifold is differen't and the cams, and maybe a little head work but other than that is it the same thing like the b16 and the b18c?

well let's get some designations straight here

K20A = JDM Integra Type R

K20A2 = USDM RSX Type S

K20A3 = USDM RSX base and USDM EP3 Civic Si

that means there is no K20A type S

That link is really informative, and the pictures showing the cam lobes are priceless. Thanks for the link.

^^ ah gotcha, thanks I thought the head is what determined the compression ratio. Or do both the vtec mechanism and compression relate to head?

The piston is going to be the primary factor in determing compression ratio. The connecting rods and crankshaft will affect it as well. The head might make a minor difference, but very very small.
