Default Can Comtech Icebox be used with regular short ram intake?

I am thinking about selling my AEM CAI and getting the Comptech Icebox. Can it be used with a regular short ram or do I need to buy there intake arm also?

you can use it with your stock rubber arm.

On the comptech website, there is a picture of the dyno run they did with the icebox on it and it supposedly adds about 17+ HP to the wheels. Is this true?

So would it work with a short ram also?

check the dyno sheet and the mechanical specs, I'v found that lot of compnies will post dyyno sheets but if you look closely you'll find they're running different cams exhaust, etc... 17 hp from an intake, any intake, sounds like a wet dream to me

the most common way to get higher numbers is to do a dyno run in a different gear, or not clearly specify whether the numbers are to the wheels or to the flywheel.

Normal SRI's wont fit with the Icebox setup. Your options are 1) Stock Intake arm or 2) Comptech SRI

I've heard of ppl modding SRI's to fit the box, but I haven't seen any. On my LS, I went with an ITR stock arm because of its bigger diameter.

Looks just like a Comptech Icebox with the stock arm. Only difference is that the stock arm is an ITR one.

Does the icebox allow you to drive in the rain without worries unlike when you have a CAI without a bypass valve?
