cf cowl style hoods? I need something for itb's to breathe.....
b-series + itb's.....
So what hood is good without being too ricey?
I can cut up a cf or oem hood if necessary.
But I'd really prefer a bolt-on solution that isn't too ricey or obnoxious.....
anyone got a link/ pics?

just add some skateboard doh dohs (truck bushings) in between the hinge and the hood it will prop the hood up in the back.

I've already shimmed the hood upwards. I want something to suck fresh air from the low pressure area in front of the windshield and push it towards the firewall/ itb/ IM area.....

gude makes a cowl hood. i think they make them in cf too. http://www.gude.com
That hood looks nonfunctional (no offense). But Black R you did say a "cowl hood" though. With a B series you want clearance of the engine with the hood. The other thing you should want is a hood vent of some type not too far behind the radiator to vent out hot air which has passed through the radiator. Having been a supra owner and under the hood temp management being a big issue with modded supras several hoods along the styles I have seen on those cars would be nice. Although I have a full fluidyne radiator and an electric water pump so the temps in my car never get high.

Yes of course. But I also want a way for fresh cool air to make it's way to the intake manifold/ firewall area where the itb's reside.
A vent in the front to let heat out of the radiator =
A vent in the rear to let cool air get on those itb's =

well i really doubt it would be on the gude race car if it wasnt functional. i mean air comes in at the front, and is cowled. only other thing i would say is make one yourself.

now i dont know if the hood is functional or not but is the rest of the body kit "functional"? they could just be promoting the hood. but back the the original question, im sure if its not functional you could make it functional fairly easy.

thats true, a low profile bolt on hood scoop, lazer cut a hole underneath, paint it all to match the car, it could work.

theres one for 12 bucks!
as far as channeling that air once you scoop it, thats going to have to custom.
one thing i will say, 99+ celicas have this plastic **** that moves the air from the scoop on those cars, could try modifing that stuff.
most likley youll end up making that last part tho.
what i want to know is can you run ITBs on a k20 in a crx with a hood on it, and also how do you keep water out of them if its a daily driver?
