WHy Am I Smoking OUt The Exhaust??
Ok here goes. Ive got a JDM B18c in my hatch with I/H/E with testpipe, no O2 sensors, and rechipped ECU with race program. I burn off the regular amount of oil...maybe half a quart within the oil change time, and compression is good across the board. But still I get this constant smoke coming out of my exhaust...its always there, more when the car is warming up, and less when its at normal running temps. I was just wondering if this is "normal smoke" out the exhaust pipe, due to me not having a cat perhaps? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks~
The smoke is white/grey in color...i recently rebuilt the head with new valvetrain, so the headgasket is brand new.

Hmm...okay, well my coolant levels are fine, so id ont think that could be it, but i'll check anyways. anybody else?
smoking on the start up? after its been warmed up? does it still smoke when your done driving and you idle? maybe its the cold weather.
mines does the same, it's always smoking. it has been getting cold out, maybe that might be the case. my idle is also screwed up, it's always surging up and down. can this be part of the smoking problem?
yea its pretty much smoking all the time...just more when its cold and warming up. i guess if im not losing coolant or any significant amount of oil, everything should be ok right?
i would have to say yeah! my usdm gsr does the same thing
in the colder weather! if all fluid levels are fine it shouldnt be a problem. keep us posted good luck

Mine too i think that this is your problem. Mine smokes in this cold weather on warm up but stops after I start driving and im running rich too. If all of your fluid levels are ok, the i dont think its a problem.

bent sugar smell means you have a leaking headgasket and you're burning coolant.
if you see some blue smoke with your white and gray. then you might have an oil leak somewhere and it's being burnt. my friend had this problem. he just traded his car in for an IS300.
how long ago did this start? if it was just in the winter time, then it might just be the climate change.

For some reason I highly doubt that power steering fluid is the cause of all the smoke. The last time I checked, power steering fluid does not cycle through the motor at all, like oil and coolant do. Uhhh...

it has always smoked ever since i dropped the motor in my hatch (about 5 months ago)...fluid levels seem to be okay as of right now...for sure its not power steering cause i dont have it...
im running a bit rich for sure, still no cat and the chipped ecu eliminated the need for an o2, so I pulled the sensor and plugged up the hole...maybe this could have something to do with it?

hmm...when my cousin's speed sensor went bad, he saw power steering liquid around it?
