Has this ever been done before?

I want to take my portable dvd players screen off and mount it somewhere in my car. Then just extend the wires to the dvd unit somewhere nearby so I can plug the audio into the AUX of my headunit.

Let me know if there is a link to someone else's post or DIY cuz i can't find one.
