well,my alternator is craping out and squiling like a pig,i know its one of the bearings inside the pulley but i can do anything about it.i have a spare alternator from my old b16 and need to put it in.it wont come out and im pretty sure i have to take the intake manifold off to replace it.is there any other way to get the old alt out with out taking the intake manifold off? i thought about the brake booster.but is there any other way to go about doing this? i took it to the shop and they wanted $500-600 to do it for me, not ******* likely lol. any ways all help is verry much appreceated.pat

 

what u have a bar sticker and u cant even figurte out how to take out ur alternator....j/k but get under the car and break loose the bolt holding it to the bracket...then unscrew the bolt...unplug all the plugs and wiggle it until the belt comes off...that simple...dont try taking it out from the top...much easier from under the car

no i know how to get it off the mounts.but i need to physically remove the whole unit and put in a new one.trust me i have tried aver andgle possible, from the top to the bottom.when this happend on my last motor my buddy and his shop had to remove the intake manifold.

 

not only that i just took my throttle body off and my whole intake manifold is caked in oil,good times huh?
