Another valve lash question, sorry.
I have a CTR intake cam in my 00 Si and was going to do a valve adj. this Fri. I got the snap on tool and the feelers. Im just trying to double check here, the B series lash spec .006-.007 isnt too tight for my cam is it? Also, what end of the range should I aim for, slight tug on .006 or 7, ex:tight tug on .007 or 8? Thanks!!
Although I am trusting you to know what the spec is for the ctr cams, the fit is really up to you. Relatively speaking, the difference between making it "snug" on the tighter of the two will open your valves slightly more than the other, but not anything that would likely be noticeable. The more important item is that you are consistant across the valves.
I always try to be on the tighter end of the spec. Tighten to a "snug" on the .oo6 & then try to put the .007 in there. If it wont go at all or is very tight, then good. Next try the .005 & see if it has only a "slight" drag or no drag. If it happens to be "tight" then I'd actually loosen up again.
Remember - throw a bit of oil on both sides of your feeler guage each time for consistancy
Good luck!

Cool, thanks for your response. Actually, im NOT sure of the CTR specs. Im assuming its the same as the stock cam, which is also the same as the ITR.... Anyone else??
