Default Attempted Auto Theft

Woke up this morning to find my ITR looking a bit different than before. The driver side door had been partially pried open from the top with some dents in the panel. Other than a couple of minor scratches, none the worse for wear.

Now, several other vehicles were also broken into, but through the window (smashed). Anyone have any thoughts why they tried prying my door instead of smashing the window.

At least it didn't go for a joyride or worse.

where did this happen? since u say other cars were broken into as well, more likely they weren't trying to steal your car, but were breaking into cars to steal stuff... probably drug addicts... it's very typical in van...

It happened in PoCo. I'm just surprised there was no "peripheral" damage usually caused by addicts. This looked "clean" if one can call it that.

i'm guessing that your car was probably the first one they tried... and that they didn't want to make a lot of noise by breaking your window... if you have an alarm, they probably saw the LED flashing... eventually i'm guessing that they gave up on prying the a pillar and rather than risk setting off your alarm, broke into the other cars

i think if ur car was in richmond, it would be gone for sure

The thing is, my battery is dead, so my security lights (three separate security systems including Clifford 4) were not flashing.

But your right - if it was in Rmd., it would be raped and gone.
