You can probably just buy new headlight bulbs for your stockers. I have a set of high and low beam hyper white bulbs if you are interested. I am cleaning out my basement and I'll sell'em to you cheap! Lemme Know!

JDM headlights are NOT brighter.

The black housing combined with a beam pattern designed for RHD cars makes it horrible compared to OEM lights. Just buy proper bulbs for your prelude and you should be fine. But JDM guaranteed will not be better

I have HID projectors in my JDM one peices, however, when I was still running halogen, I found that the aiming on the JDM housings were pretty useful. I was running some generic (I think I bought them from Target) hyper whites or something, and screwed around with the reflector aim. They actually weren't that bad...

BUT!

My oem usdm headlights with silverstars were pretty damn good---better than the JDM's I think. I should have taken pics... damn me.

Either way you're ok I'd say... Just stay away from those halogen projector housings---absolutely horrible. You'd be better off with 2 candles as headlights.

Hi, are you saying that the H4s that are used in the JDM 1 piece headlights aren't as bright as Silverstars 9005 (modified)? I have Silverstar 9005 in my 9006 and they are pretty bright, but I didn't think they would be as good as Silverstars with H4. My sister use to have a Nissan Altima and it ran on H4s and they were just extremely brighter with the H4 Silverstars than my 9005 Silverstars.

I am not sure, that is why I am making this post.

I honestly can't say which was better. I just remember my USDM beam patter being better than the JDM... But my opinion is not strong... I don't remember well. Unfortuneatly I did not compare the beams. I simply got the JDM lights because they were better suited for my projector retro-fit & IMO, they look much better.

no. using the same brand of bulb, the JDM will have less visibility. Black Housing + RHD beam pattern = suck

the jdm headlights have coke bottle type adjustment caps on them -- You can adjust most of the rigth hand bias out of them. They have a more classy and better look to them, they are plastic as compared to glass so weight less, and will not chip as bad.. I paid 120 bucks for mine on ebay --- I think the benefits far outway the negatives of having them ....
