Default H22 hydrolock saved!

Location: Southern California
Weather: Raining like a bitch
Problem: aem cai

I was driving my gf to school(she starts earlier than me) and on the way, there is a hill with water running down and im driving about 45 when I drive over it. Water splashes up like 4 feet in the air, i was like oh damn im fucked. Motor starts bogging and then I quickly shut it off.

After about 3 hours of(1 hour waiting for my parents to wake up and come bring me tools) I take the plugs out, confirm no water got into the combustion chamber, some mud and a little bit of water got gumbed up into the tb and the filter was dirty as hell, took me forever to clean.

Im lucky that the only problem was that the filter got so dirty that it wasnt sucking in enough air, I guess enough water hit the filter. The day before it was raining this hard so i decided to leave the aem on their and also the fact that the stock lude intake system is to long for the eg and I never tested it before, I think im damn lucky my motor still runs strong.

Just thought id share, im really happy nothing bad happened. Sorry for the novel.

Unless you drive your car into a pond or swimming pool, im sure you'll be fine with a short ram.

my luck was that the filter didnt get submerged, a bunch of water and mud just splashed onto it.

if your filter gets hit halfway with a flood on the side of the road, would that cause hydrolocking?

? Really? Snap, I never heard any reviews on the product, just thought it'd do what it's made for. I have an AEM V2 Intake... Don't gotta worry about hydro really.

How does the V2 feel and sound compared to a standard CAI or short-ram?

Wrong thread bud, stay on topic.

IMO, the bypass valve will negate the little gains you will get from the CAI, effectively making the entire intake system worthless.

CAI w/ no bypass; if it rains, throw a filter on the TB
