Default H22 prob.

OK. I have a 92 prelude si 4ws with a JDM h22a in it. When the motor is cold it runs fine as they should and even when it gets hot it still runs smoth but when I continue to drive it its like it starts to lag like something is holding it back and its loading up and you have to continue to give it throttle to get it going but when i get passed like 3200 rpm it smoothes out and takes off. My fuel pressure is at 36 pounds and all my books tell me that that is normal.

Does any one know what might be wrong with it.

depending on how many miles you have on the engine you might need to change the fuel filter or clean the ijectors

Yes you see thats exactly what i was thinking so i did a complete fuel injector flush and i changed the filter like not even a month ago.Didnt di it. But I ve hurd there is something about a secondary butterfly valve in the intake manifold and when they lose vaccum from a line or something they do that but will that make it do that when its cold.

i have had the same problem too but it only does it every now and then it is weird! it feels like the car is just puttin along and then it just kicks in and takes off!
i also have heard of the butterfly valve stickin but that butterfly doesnt come on til 4600 rpms is what i was told!

Yea thats excatly like what it does, ive hurd that also about the valves but like you said 4600 not 2000-3200. Ive also hurd that the automotic advance in the distributer goes out causing it to do that, and if anyone can get some info on that let me know.

Check your plugs and make sure there not bosch or to hot a plug. Also do you have any cell's? What you discribe sounds alot like your plugs. I had the same prob with my car only below 3k it would do it even then a little hint was left at high rpm.

Hey I found the prob. its the timing, it was at 14 not 15 and the last time i went to put it at 15 i didnt do the cross over thing with the diagnostic plug that stops the automaitc electronic timing for puting it back at 14.so that fixed my prob.

I wish i could describe it better but thats the best i can do. so try that and see what it does.
