Default D15B del sol with P08 ecu

My problem with my d15b is that when I put the ecu in P08 the car cranks but the check engine light comes on and wont shift. It runs fine with the stock ecu but my vtec dosen't work so that is why I need this ecu. If anyone could give any help I would apprecciate it more than anything thanks a million

depending on what the original engine / ecu was.... I think the p08 ecu uses a 1 wire o2 sensor. I have no clue why you wouldn't be able to shift

It sounds to me like you have an automatic tranny and a manual ECU. Correct me if I'm wrong.

that is exactly what i thought at first too but I sent it back and the guy said he was sure that it was the right one he has really excellant feedback on ebay and even offered me a refund 6 mos down the road so I don't think he was trying to screw me. But I am still stumped by this Could it have anything to do with wiring???

PS thanks for your responses i really apprecciate your feedback

it reads as 37820-p70-900
791-110727 that is what's on the case is there some where else that I would need to look ??? I think it is odd that it says p70 obviously but it could be a p08 ecu in a p70 case

The -900 indicates automatic, but I'm not familliar with the P70. If you remove the top cover, it the same part number on a sticker on the connector header?

That picture is good for illustrating what his should look like. IC13 and IC14 should also be populated with SI5050s in his ECU. IC15 and IC16 control the solenoids on the tranny.

I will provide any information you would like the car was originally a theft recovery it is a 1995 1.5 del sol s I traded out the engine when it took a **** at this engine shop in Dallas so the guy says all you need is d15b ecu so I say fine
well this is the 2nd d15b that has been in the car the harmonic balanceer on the first engine wore down where the keyway wouldn't stay fit in the driveshaft. The transmission is still the stock transmission for del sol s 1995

The ecu Looks exactly like the one in the picture with the exception of the p71 mine says p70 and obviosuly where yours has missing pins mine has a chip

if there is any other info you need just let me know I will be more than glad to provide THANKS A MILLION to everyone who has offered input. THanks
