A very Quick Prelude JDM H22 Question
Hi,
Does a H22a engine mean its from a Fifth Gen ??
Thats what i gather from here :
http://www.streettuners.com/cu...elude
So if im buying a H22a engine is it from 5th Gen or are there 4th Gen H22a too.
Im talking Japanese engines only.
Also if anyone knows If im getting a JDM swap for my Honda Prelude H23 Si and its a forth Gen Vtec Engine will i need to change wiring harness ???
thanksalot

H22a means it's a JDM DOHC VTEC motor.
they come from both 4th and 5th gen ludes. re-use your h23a1 engine harness and add VTEC wires as needed.
side note: any honda/acura(technically, there's no acura in Japan
) that has no alpha/numeric number after the 2nd alpha, then it's JDM
examples JDM = h22a, b16a, b16b, b18c, etc.
USDM= h22a1, h22a4, b16a2, b16a3, b18c5, b18c1, etc.
what would help you A LOT is if you read the FAQ thread that is stickied above the rest of the threads.

It's a cam seal, it goes on the side of your valve cover
between the vc and the head.
