97 Prelude w/ rebuilt engine still burns oil
I rarely go into this forum im mostly in the eG forum. Well i searched and most of what i searched when i select it, it comes up as an error, that i dont know why. so dont get your flame-on.
Well my cousin purchsed a 97 lude w/ 95K and it look normal from the outside but after driving for a several months he notices that there was a significant amount of engine oil burned, he added probably 2 quarts a week to a week and a half. My brother in-law is a mechanic for Infiniti Dealership and he basically took the engine out and rebuilt it with everything rings, seals, gaskets, resurfacing and everything else. ohh and cleaned it pretty damn well.
now theres still oil burning about half a quart a week. Is this normal for you lude owners? Thanks.

If its a rebuilt motor, you really shouldn't be burning any oil at all. Do a compression and a leakdown if you have the means to. The compression tester tool is $25 at pepboys. How much oil you burn also depends on your personal driving style. How many miles are on your motor now?
your motor may burn some oil if you are still in the break in period for your motor.

So only 1k on the new motor? Give it a little more time if theres only ~1k miles on the motor... oil burning should decrease. Do a compression and leakdown at like... 2000mi, by then you may not even have anymore oil burning....
