All I know is that it tapers down as it approachs the throttle body to increase velocity, as well as give it a broader range of resonance, like the V2. I think JHP sells them, I'll check for you.

Yeah, jhpusa.com has them for $150.

http://www.importselect.com/import_mainframe.htm

I bought mine from them about a year ago. At 130 it was the best price I could find.

I have this intake with an k&n filter and I like it a lot better than the stock intake hands down. As for comparison with aftermarket intakes, the only other ones I have had on my car is a Injen SRI. It doesn't seem like it pulls as hard top end but pulls harder low and mid range. I never dynoed the car with either intake so this is all really my butt dynoed opinions only.

it gives a ram air effect going from a large chamber to stock intake size tubing. for daily driving i would use the Type-S over a CAI any day.

Aries, do you run with the stock resonator in or out? (Assuming the 4th gen had a system similar to the 5th gen's fenderwell resonator)
