Default Water damage in engine

Hello everyone.

I have a 2000 Civic SI, and last night while driving through a puddle my engine died (AEM cold-air sucked up some water). I was unable to restart both last night and this morning. The car was towed home at which point I took out the spark plugs and turned it over to get any water out of the cylinders. There was quite a bit of water that came out. I put the plugs back in but still nothing. The car will not even turn over anymore with or without a jump start, the starter just clicks. I fear the stall out last night due to water in the cylinders might have bent a rod, or worse somehow seized the engine altogether. I tried to manually turn the crankshaft, but it will not turn. Has anyone had a problem similar to this, or does anyone have advise on what else I can do? Thanks in advance.

Mikael

sounds like another case of hydrolock, rip it apart and see what you did.

im sorry you have no chance of saving your motor

it is possible to restart your motor by letting it sit for a while then jump start and start up your car but about a couple of days later your engine will explode literally.

Again your motor is dead and you cant salvege it from what i say form experience from above.

Did you pull the motor? Was is still hooked up to the tranny when you tried to spin it by hand? If so was it in neutral? Were the accessory belts removed?

I think you might be headed toward a minor rebuild. Hopefully I am incorrect.

Good luck.
