Lights? 4200k 8500k>?
Hey im lookin to get some new headlights for my civic, and i bought some e-bay projectors, just ta see how long theyll last without breaking or leaking...
No i need some bulbs for them and what ive found is i need 9006, but i dont understand the k system...its it the higher the number the brighter or what? and if so whats the brightest a 98 civic can handle with its stock wireing?

the higher the bluer but less output. the lower (4100k or 4300k are usually what oem uses) are have less color but have better outputs. i would recommend around 4100k to nothing over 6000k
just my .02
just my .02
So if i wanted a really bright light but didnt want the normal oem off-white...what would be the best? howcome the 8500k say there 2x as bright as stock?

stick to your stock halogen bulbs... all those fake HID bulbs blow in a month anyways, save your money, they suck at night too... and that is not true at all, no way a set of fake HID bulbs in 8500k color is 2x bright as stock....save up for real HID ..

thats true.. 4300K puts out 3200 lumens
as u get up into the stupid 6000K range, u are around 2400 and less.. and the usable light just gets worse and worse as the K number goes up. stick with the 4300K

The funny thing is the blingers attempting to get the ultimate HID systems and buy 10-12k kits, thinking that theyre bright as hell and give off a cool purple glow, are actually putting out less light than halogens.
I'd stay between 4100-5100K, but the closer you stay to the red spectrum (the lower the number) the better it is for cutting through fog and whatnot. The bluer the beam, in the fog you get creamed. that's something to live by.
