Default Valve Adjustment

Just wondering how often do people do Valve Adjustment to their engines??. I am hearing alot of ticking, my car has 50,000 km probably time to do it.

how do you tell if you need valve adjustment? the engine usually chatters when cold, but once warmed up, it's sounds alight...

DOHC Honda engines are typically noisey. Regular maintence is 15k. Loud ticking noise while cold and warm is a sign you need them adjusted. If you havent had them adjusted in 30k or more it's definitely time. And yes you'll notice a difference in performance and fuel economy. It's much better to spend the cash to get it done than to *** up yer engine (bend valve).

i dont know how much it is to get a valve adjustment done in the US but i am taking my car in on friday to get them adjusted and they quoted me $64.00 (canadian money). so on friday i will tell u people if my engine runs smoother now without the chattering noise. I also had to make an extra key made and it costs 80.00 because i have a 2001 model and they have to rechip it or somthing

sears or any auto store usually have them. make sure you get the right size for your car. they're usually under 10 bucks

yea bent valves suck. my itr's been in the shop for almost a month now and is costing me nearly 3k to fix.. timing belt snapped.

off note but i sure damn feel your pain.. how fast were you going when it happened? mine snapped two days ago luckily i was going slow and my valves were ok.. good luck with that man

i was only going like 35 and barely giving it gas. But I get the car back tonight. And they put all performance valves in there so it should be running like a champ.
