I don't think you missed much.
I'd recommend Benson or Golden Eagle, as the H-series blocks I've seen sleeved by them were immaculate.

I have a benson block
yes a liner is for a soild block you bore out and put in the liner
a sleeve is for open deck motors where you remove the stock
sleeves and put the new one's in
