I have a 2000 prelude and i'm lookin to get hondata. I know to get hondata you need to do a obd 2 - obd1 converion. anyone know of a good place to get the harness for the conversion. anyone also know what kind of gains can be expected from hondata? thanks!
member on HT by the name of Boomslang makes a conversion harness. I believe they are on sale right now as well. Check out the sponsors section.
I wasn't sure if all the $90-$100 Ebay harnesses were reliable (some might be just fine, I just didn't want to take the risk).
I just bought a Skunk2 harness at Robearracing.com for $145 shipped. Thats ~$100 less than it usually sells for so I jumped on it.
Marcuccimotorsports.com has VERY nice harnesses that run $165. You won't need it with Hondata obviously, but they also do OBDI-OBDII harnesses that have a VAFC version I or II plug and play built in for that price.

I dont care what brand name the conversion harness is as long as it has a 30 day no questions asked money back refund. Cool you overpayed for the skunk2 name, go you. You dont always have to get raped.
There is a sponsor on here with them starting at 69.99 eff paying big money for some wiring..

Like I said, "some may be just fine."
I've seen some pretty crummy wiring harnesses sold on Ebay. Had I known there was a reliable sponsor on HT that sold them cheap, I would have gone with that and recommended the same thing to Lude2envy. I'll survive the extra $50.
I gave the Skunk2 example in case he preferred to go with a major manufacturer and get a lot of $$ of retail price. Simple as that.
No need for the sarcasm, pal

Thanx for the info about the harness. Do you know what kind of gains I can expect with Hondata. I think there are also a couple of different flashes you can get with Hondata. Which one is good?

uhh just to be clear using hondata on a prelude is not like RSX-S and Civic Si where hondata has complete ecu reflashes avaiable. There is no such thing as a Prelude ecu 'flash'.
For prelude, you just buy the piggyback system, and you go find a hondata tuner to tune your setup. Result depend on your supporting modifcations.
Perhaps you should call Hondata and get your questions answered.

If you guys are in need of a conversion harness I can help out. I have been a sponsor for H-T, building and selling these on here longer than anyone I know. Brand New OEM connectors. No Middle man. No internet pinout copier. Hundreds sold on here and around the world.
I will beat any price you find on them period!
My Sale Thread with tons of vouches in the sponsor section.
