Greddy E-Manage
Alright I have decided to go with the E-Manage for my 99 Accord i4 w/ modified FMAX kit. I put in the DSM 450's and the thing is running pig rich. I have the Fields Unit but it cannot pull enough fuel and obviously not timing either. I do not have built internals and will only be running 9psi daily. I want to keep an OBD2 computer and I don't want to spend the $ on the AEM EMS.
So I figured the E-Manage would be the next best option. Now, it does have options for ignition and injectors too. So I can pull fuel and timing.
But can it datalog? Will it be able to calculate A/F ratios and datalog them so I can adjust for rich/lean conditions? And will the stock narrowband 02 sensor read the right A/F ratios or do I have to get a wideband? I know Greddy doesn't make any base maps so I have to start from scratch but any ideas would help. Thanks.

if you plan to tune it yourself you'll need a wideband for sure, the stock nbo2 is garbage

you need a controller also, your ECU wouldn't know what to do with a wideband sensor or how to read it.
I use the techedge 2A0 unit. AEM's new gauge-type is nice also.

you can look at PLX also - their M300 is very cost effective and works well from what I've heard. http://www.plxdevices.com

To answer one of your early ? the E-manage will data log for you. And it is VERY important to have a wide band O2 sensor and controler when tuning. Other wise you'll have no idea what A/F ratio your acutally at.

Yep I have a wbo2 and the AEM EMS.
You can tune on a dyno using the dyno's wideband, but I personally like having a real-time AFR display in my car at all times for piece of mind... Plus I don't know how you'd interface a dyno's wbo2 unit into your own EMS (never had to try that).
These systems really are not sold for just anyone to use and tune, they're really expected to be tuned by someone familiar with the system and knowledgeable in the theory behind tuning modern fuel injected engines. That's why trained, experienced tuners charge $500+ for their tuning services.

Alright, so does the e-manage take into account the oversized injectors and adjust accordingly b/c I could have the same problem again if the E-Manage doesn't pull enough fuel. Again i have the DSM 450's and the Fields unit isn't pulling enough fuel so how will the E-Manage do so?? And what is the point of using the E-Manage to datalog if you have to buy a wideband 02 sensor and controller anyways? And where does the wideband go .. in the cat or the DP?
A wideband controller does not necessarily do datalogging. Ususally a management system's datalogging is better than a wbo2 unit anyway (in my example AEM logging > techedge datalogging)
Wideband goes before the cat in the exhaust, preferably more than 18-24" away from the turbo.
Emanage *SHOULD* be able to control 450's, but I'm not an emanage user so I dunno. The fields controller is not really a management system, you really can't compare the two... That's just a "hack" not proper management.

No I know .. I'm not comparing the two.. Im just questioning the ability of the emanage to pull enough fuel during idle and lower rpms since im pig rich right now..
should be able to - you can email greddy, they actually respond pretty quickly to emails unlike most companies.
be careful driving around too rich - I'm convinced that's why I blew my 1st motor - too much gas, washed the oil around the piston rings off and fried my 3rd cylinder.

Hahahaha.. thats almost funny.. be careful driving around the car too much.. this car hasn't been on the road in months.. ive driven it maybe 2000 miles since i put the turbo kit, which was about 2 years ago.. between stereo work, body shops, tuning problems, or my OCD with my car this car has been off the road as much as its been on
