sleeving the block means you are getting a
bigger bore cylinder walls so you could acomodate biger pistons
therefore increasing your cc's
and gaining more torque on the low/med range.

so it doesnt mean that your pistons will wear out faster...

sleeving give the opportunity for stronger cylinder walls. I would only suggest in applications recieving over 1 bar of boost. It isnt cheap, and workmanship could be questionable.

Block Sleeving is the process of cutting out part of the original cylinder sleeves and installing a thicker Iron Ductile Sleeve.

It will actually hold more pressure than stock sleeves during high boost applications.
Another thing sleeves let you do is do a bigger bore on the block. Lets say a regular B18C1 block is a 81mm bore, you can sleeve it and bore out to an 84mm bore. That results in about 2.0L
Almost a .2L increase in displacement which results in more torque and potential power for the motor.
There's more to this process but thats a brief explanation of it.
