if you're confused, just go with oem.. they do a great job... i wouldn't uprade to anything other then oem unless you're getting a big brake kit or different calipers or if you're tracking the car...

ps... do not put racing pads on your daily driver S.. for racing pads are made to work with higher temperatures which your daily driver S will never reach on the street... .

With those being mentioned, let me add that I used Red Stuff pads on my old Integra and I think they are highly under-rated. I think they fair just as well as the Cobalt GT-Sport pads.

I have a related question, I just picked up a 2005 S2k, and the thing puts out MAD BRAKE DUST YO. I mean it's outta control. The car will not see track use. Any suggestions on less messy pads?

Yes, the 00-03 use a Ceramic pad. The 04+ went to a semi-metallic pad.

I was very disappointed to, at first, when I saw all the dust on my 04 from the brakes. But a lot of brake dust has usually been a sign of a good brake pad. And after a few track sessions, the stock setup is great for 20-30 min session on the track. Very little fade on extremely hot days.

04+ pads must be better. i was getting fade from my 02 pads on the street I guess you give up some dirt for better braking, which i would anytime

On the note of brake dust...

I think that Carbotec Eng. has some of the best brake pads out there. Definitely worth a shot for all you track ******. The only down side to these pads are the dust which is borderline insane but hey its hard to have a great brake pad without dust.

But... since you are wanting pads for the rear I would suggest oem since a stronger-than-front rear pad could possibly mess up the braking balance of the car, and that equals no fun!

I didnt know 04's would give off more brake dust. Good to know because I was going to switch to them next. I have the Cobalt GT's now and besides the crazy brake dust, the squeeling is killing me. Back to stock in the summer.

Love these pads. Had EBC green pads, they were good but i love the hawks. Had them on my sentra and had enough stopping power for the SR20DET. I have them now on my GTI
