What can be the damage, long term, if you dont wait. I'll admit i was a bit of a leadfoot with my car on certain moments.

the pistons won't seat right, tranny won't break in right, valve train will not break in right. this will all result in: lower power, less life from the motor, bad transmission. when you have all that metal miving around together, you need to give it time to wear in. all of the pieces will work better if they are aquainted properly.

actually if you dont break it in right....and start going full throttle early...you will see better numbers then breaking it in softly....BUT ...your car will have a lot more problems long term....i say dont go full throttle for atleast 1000 miles...ATLEAST....just do normal shifts..3k 3.5 k shifts....trust me...it aint worth it...

the techs????? how about the sales dept????? how about the cool truck drivers who deliver the damn cars? if the cars came off the rail cars, how about the migrant workers who drove them. if buy ship, how about the drivers who drove it to the staging areas. how about the previous potential buyer who test drove it before you?

my 2004 Si had 1100 miles on it when i bought it(guess a previous deal fell thru). i now have 12k on it, i drove it hard day one, i have valve chatter on cold start up tech says i need a valve adjustment from driving it hard.

I dont know about all the other people you listed, but I do know for a fact that tech's move some of the cars around the lots....or when new models come in...They bone out in all your cars....As for the other people, I dont think they'd want to be too liable to crash one of those or have the time to have fun with them without getting in trouble....

Damm, yours had 1100 miles on it? Brand new? No wonder you needed a valve adjustment...lol...

Well, our points are the same.....If you buy a new car....More than likely you're not the first person who's driven it....and more than likely its been dogged on already....

Drive it like you stole it! You might even gain a little more hp down the road.
