pistons question?
Trending Topics
i was told that the ctr piston will fit directly in with no problem...but be wear that ctr piston will bump your compression high so you want to up grade other things too at teh same time...to run safe at high rpm...But i was only told that....i know that you need piston rings if you get new piston and you need the robs pressed in....I'm also wondering has anyone ran a gsr longblock stock with ctr piston in there with no tuning?
With a stock headgasket, a stock P72 head, and PCT pistons, a GSR engine will be at about 12.7:1 compression. C-speed says otherwise but they don't take into consideration the compression height differences between the PCT's and the P72's.
Don't run the OBD2 ecu if you're trying to tune with cams, high compression, etc.
Also, don't tune without at least keeping an eye on the air/fuel ratio.
You'll also need to run a much colder spark plug with the higher compression.
My stock spark plugs are almost turning white and I'm just running the ITR pistons.
