ef problem

Default ef problem

i was wonderin if anyone could help me out i have a 92 hatch and when i go to strat it i have to start it once let it out and then crank it again and starts right up... my ecu is blinkin but i ant figure out what might be the problem ef problems

so when u crank it up first it does nothing? if thats the case it could be your ignition switch or your starter clip not making enough contact, or even your battery terminals getting bad, gimme a little more detail on what exactly happenswhen u try and start it.

try turning your key to the on position but don't crank it over to try and start the motor. let the fuel pump kick in for about 2 seconds and then try to turn it over. that's what i have to do sometimes in my crx. something simple to start with instead of ripping apart your ignition or something. if that doen't work, then move on to the more difficult possibilities.

hey like when i try to start it on the first crank and just keep tryin it , it wont start but if i crank it once and let it out and then crank it the sec time it will start right up i changed my fuel filter ,, i didnt know if that could be the case or not

o yea when i try to start it on the first crank and only the first crank it will start on the first try every once in a while but if it doesnt start i have to take my key out and it will always start on the sec crank

Have you tried this? At first I didn't realize that that whirring noise was the fuel pump priming/pressurizing the fuel system. It would always take a few seconds of cranking before the car would fire up. NOW I let it do it's thing (w/key in 'on' position) and it starts up instantly.

OR

Maybe that's just your car's personality.....I usually need to be woke up twice in the morning before I actually get up outta bed. Your car's a slacker

yea i just started cranking it more now and all of a sudden it starts frist try every time now
