Car is running rough. Help pleaseeeeeee!!!!!!!!
I don't know when this happens to my car but after everytime I pump gas to my car, then I crank it, it starts but dies very quick. I have to sit there keep my foot on the gas after the car starts, let it idles for like 5 mins b4 it is back to normal, otherwise if I let go my foot, the RPM drops and it dies. There is no check engine light. Fuel pressure is at 42 which is fine. Last week I was driving down the road, the car was suddenly running rough, slow throttle response, I couldn't rev high and check engine light came on after that. I stopped by Autozone and checked the code. There were 2, it was EVAP system and MAP sensor. I went home checked everything, I found nothing wrong, and the car runs like normal again. And today it acted up again, I was driving and the RPM dropped all the sudden, and the car died while I was driving. I started the car and it started but die right away after that. It did that everytime I tried to start. I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep the RPM alive and run very slow home. The check engine light was on again, the car was running very rough. Any idea what could be wrong with my car? Any suggestion, opinion, or advice I really appreciate! Thanks!
Same thing happened to be before but it was on a 90 crx si. I found the problem was the main relay. I might wanna check that.
But it is really weird, it ran very good, extremely fine then it just happened like that. Now my car is sitting inside my garage, it will start when I crank it but will die right away unless I have to keep my foot down at the gas pedal. One thing I notice that it runs very rich (I have AFR gauge), and sounds like misfire, very rough.
it could be the IACV (idle air control valve) valve needs changing or cleaning..
its worth taking it off the car and cleaning the filter as thats what lets air and water into the engine..
run a search for iacv you should get a few posts.

You have a problem that could be very difficult to find. A couple of things puzzle me though.

Now, this could be pure coincidence. I would think that maybe, just maybe, when you fill up, the heat from the engine is heating up something somewhere.

I would look and test those circuits very carfully next time your problem occurs.
First things first.
I would go over every single electrical connect to make sure they are all tight and oil free.
Then go over the wires to look for broken, bare, erroded isulation.
Third, i would look carefully at your fuse panel to make sure everything is tight.
Fourth, i would try to find an known good ecu and swap for a while to see if the problems replicate.
