Seeing that your in CA, you might want to stick with the RSX or for that matter a car that can't be stolen to easily...

K series seems to be the way to go nowadays. but the R is probably more refined for the track out of the box.

I am looking for straight line speed more than anything. So which would be the best for that for the least amount of money ( including the purchase price)

I'd drive an RSX Type S, if I didn't spend much time at the track. Both are capable cars. The RSX is way more comfortable, ITR is pure adrenaline.

Test drive them yet?

could someone post the good and bad for each. I was thinking that parts would be cheaper for itr because it is a B series motor.

Yep, if you want straightline speed, get something with some torque and displacement.

If these are your only two choices...RSX-S has the superior engine.

The R has the superior suspension though.

Is this really necessary? Why should we do all the legwork for you?

well imo the itr have more looks, better handling, faster then a s stock, mad vtec, higher top end, etc...but if u planning to hook up then get the S. a S with bolt ons will be faster then a R. IMO i will get the R straight up mainly becuz i will spend less money. if i have a rsx i will get the oem lips, low down, rims, exhaust, and jdm headlights, and i dont want to deal with spending all that money were as for a R i can just get Bolt Ons.

RSX sounds like your best bet.

Even ITR owners are getting rid of perfectly good B18 motors in favor of the new K-series motors.

go type s. You will save yourself the constant anxiety of wondering whether or not your car is safe...

this is almost to hard of a choice as imho both motors deserve to be in another car besides the one they were placed in.

so why not buy a ek throw a k20 under the hood and have a pretty decent street car

thats my .02

If you want a straight line car why bother with either? FWD and straight line performance just don't go well together.

Hell, if you want to go fast in a straight line, and want a 4 cylinder FWD, I would do an SRT4. Friends runs 11.6@125+mph without much work.

that sir is very untrue i have had (3) 12 second hondas and (2) 11 second hondas both which were wonderfull cars and were very easy to drive and i have been in a srt-4 and i give the car 2 but face it its still a neon i will give the car more rspect in a few years after they have been run hard and proven over time like the honda motors also i highly doubt 11.6 at whatever mph was had without hard work cause anyone here can vouch a car that is 12sec or faster is very hard work to maintain on the streets

and off topic (sorry to thread jack) what modifacations were had for the srt to run that kinda times.

not calling you a lier but would like to know what was done and slips would be nice also

Type S if you want to go straight, R if you want to hit the curves.
