Default Rigging the OEM cruise control switch *pix*

Has anyone used the oem cruise control switch to power some custom accessories? I took out my cruise control a long time ago, so the cc switch could be used as an on/off switch for something.

I have the wiring diagram for the terminal pins on the back of the oem fog light switch to power some custom electrical accesories, but is there a similar wiring diagram for the cc switch? I need to find out which pin is constant, which is ground, and which is accessory.

This is the back of the cc switch. There are 5 pins.

1 is supposed to be ground, 1 is for constant 12 volt, and 1 is for accesory

2 are unused.

How do I find out which pin is which?

I got it! Look on page 23-241, basically a page or two back from that one. Upper right hand corner of the wiring diagram.

Pins 1-2 are power, 4-5 are ground, and 3 is the power out when the switch is activated.

Sound right?

I used to use the cruise for my nitrous activation, I just used the power out and wired it to a relay.

Doh, you found the right diagram Drag, I just read it wrong.

1 is power in, 2 is power out, 3 is ground for indicator light, and 4 and 5 are part of the dimmer switch circuit?

I think I got it!!!!! After staring at the complete diagram schematics on that page and referring to the pin table for the past hour:

1 is ground
3 is power
2 is accessory

4 and 5 are unused

I will put it to the test tomorrow.

I just hooked up these seat switches recently. I'm planning to do something similar with the cc switch.

Driver side switch activates my ctr citylights. Passenger side switch serves as a tailgator switch to activate my brake lights.

Very cool. Is there any other switches besides those seat switches that fit in those particular cutouts? I like the brake like switch idea quite a bit.

BTW, I believe you have the pinout correct. When looking at the diagram on 23-244, 1 is ground for the light bulb. 3 is the constant power coming from fusebox/ignition, and the circuit for the accessory on 2 and the light bulb are completed when the switch is depressed.

Yeah you can also fit the oem foglight switch in that location also. My friend has 2 oem foglight switches there, but they bulge out alot. The seat switches sit very flush as you can see in the pic below.
