Jdm engines, how can you verify if it's JDM prelude engines with the comp 10:6?
I want to swap my h23a to a Jdm h22a engine, How do I know that it's the real jdm engines with the piston compression of 10:6 Besides words that is being said to me/or the advertisment? Thanks fellow prelude owner.
simplest way to tell is by looking at the block code. If it says h22a not h22a4 or h22a1 then it is the JDM counter part.
if the block code is H22A, you're guaranteed a CR of at least 10.6:1
there's no reason to look for anything else, unless you think the motor has been cracked open and had the pistons changed, which is unlikely

thank you. I have been calling around these engine shops and they happen to know nothing about it. Do you know if all japanese vtec prelude engine just happen to be h22a?

JDM ludes also come with f22b(equivalent to USDM h23a1), if you want to know what it looks like, check under the hood of your car, looks exactly the same as a h23a1.
dude...like EVERYBODY else is saying, just make sure the stamp on the front of the block says "h22a", not "h22a1", "h23a1", "h22a4", etc...JDM IS "H22A"
here's a pic, if you look at the pic, you can see the watermark that says "HONDAMOTORSONLINE" right below the "O" in "MOTORS", you'll see the flywheel plug(black plug), right below it is the block number, can't miss it at all, if you're lost, go look at your old h23a1 motor, the block number is exactly the same place, same with most honda/acura motors.

it def should just say H22A , and if its a complete jdm long block the fuel rail fitting should be on the wrong side comparted to your h23a1
