Bseries engine mount question.
ok im new to EF chassies. but i did do a B16a swap into my 91 integra so im alittle familar with the mounts.
to swap the Bseres into an EF chassie, most people use custom engine mounts.
why is this? what makes the factory mounts not work? does the engine get positioned to far forward or backwards? or do the stock mounts not bolt into the factory locations?
also i have the stock teg drivers mount, rear T mount, and i have a tranny mount from a JDM CRX that didn't fit in my teg because it pushed the enigine 1/2" to 1" forward.
so im asking why the stock integra tranny mount won't fit? if it is because the engine sits to far back twards the fire wall, then using my JDM CRX mount might alow me to use the stock mounts in my swap.
just trying to learn more about these chassies before i build one.

for me it was just time to replace the Mounts. the bushings were rotten through on the D series motor. Plus with hasport you get the comfortablity of knowing your oil pan isn't causing sparks crusing down the road. Plus hood clearance and a whole bunch of tolerances go into the mounts. The added weight, the balance, wear and tear of OEM MM. plus sometimes the mounts bolt up on a different pattern on some motors. I've only down a b16a, but i know the b18 would be a little differnt b/c the size of the motor.
im refuring to the Stock integra mounts not the Dseries mounts.
there is no way the Dseries mounts would ever work.
does anyone know why the B18a mounts from the 90-93 integra don;t work in the EF/CRX chassie?
also i have the tranny mount from a JDM CRX so it positions the tranny 1/2-1" farther forward than the stock teg mounts in the DA chassie.

the car i got my ls from used the stock integra mounts, he had to reweld the chassis mounts to use the stock teg mounts. when i pulled the motor i noticed that the driver and tranny mounts there mooved then rewelded

you can get the stock DA mounts to work, BUT the motor will hang low, the axle's wont be straight and it might be slightly crooked..
the only mount from the DA that wont work is the driver side mount, u need to get the JDM b16 one, that one fits the tranny mount (all three) u can use the DA ones..
with this setup u have to use the front tranny mount, that should just align with no issues, the rear L bracket is the only one u will have problems with..
the best way i got this setup to work was to bolt in the swap only using the passenger side tranny mount and the driver side mount. Get the drivers side on first, then ur going to have to "tweek" the motor mount housing on the tranny mount side, to get the tranny mount to go in to the housing.
once u got the 2 side mounts situated, get the front tranny mount in bolt that up and check out the rear L bracket...
when i did this, the hole that was on the bracket already was too high and to forward for the mount on the chassis ( i moved the mount on th K member over to the 2 holes closest to the drivers side - look at hasports directions for this) i just drilled a hole on the bracket alinging with the mount on the chasis and i ran my own bolt and nut
as for the axles, use the same ones the integra DA ones, but they will bind alot, and linkage wise, u should be able to run hasports, or best is just to cut your own, thats what i did, the haport ones might be too long, not sure though...
i wouldnt suggest to anyone to do this, i would rather run the cheap generic $150 ebay mounts then this rigged up way..
but back when i did it i had no choice to do so.....

You can use the driver side motor mount and the t-mount for the rear tranny.but you better off buying the ebay mount they can pretty good they are not CNC machine mounts but they are still made pretty good. with a lifetime warranty
i used a integra mount on the drivers side on my crx with the b16 and it was a pain in the *** to get every bolt hole lined up and it was about quater inch to high on the drives side and my hood wouldnt shut properly
