There should be one on the front of the engine down by the oil pan.

Where did you get the motor from? I'm sure we can tell you if it's hot or not.

Was your engine a 98? I have a canadian ITR 1998 and I don't have a tranny VIN either. A buddy of mine has a 98 GS and it doesn't have one either. Maybe the tranny VIN didn't come into effect until 1999 on Canadian Integras...can anybody confirm this?

Just FYI people, the block serial cannot be traced through an Acura or Honda dealership.

I realize you're talking about the green tag.. but the STAMPED one below B18C5 is not traceable from me.

I've had a few phone calls from people asking me to try and run a block number (no, i will not mention names).. but the only way I THINK that number can be traced is through American Honda or talking to John Q. Law.

...Eddie Bello got busted for being a thief....rofl, i remember reading that...haha, piles of ecstasy pills and all kinds of stolen porsche parts and engines found in his shop....

Too bad not all the trannies even come with the VIN plates anyways.

My friend just bought a BRAND NEW ITR tranny from the dealer and it has NO VIN plate. Why? Because it's new and it was never in a car until now.

i heard that if a tranny is remanufactured, the VIN plate is taken off, thats my guess on what happened to mine b/c mine has no VIN plate but you can see where it used to be. Its a 99 JDM SiR II Motor. The head says "99" on it, and its just "B16A" on the block which says its a JDM motor b/c US motors are B16A2 or B16A3.

you know the number below the "b16" stamp, can they trace the motor or find out if the motor is stolen from that number?

The new trannies have the holes w/ no VIN tag.. but the holes aren't threaded to accept a bolt. They are fresh holes.

Well if you buy a tranny from Honda brand new there wont be a vin# cause they dont have the vin# of the car to put it on. I dont know about the motors but im sure it is the same way.
